Most people think Greeks are always dark. Not so. Many are blond, and have those lovely light blue or yellow-green eyes, found often in mountainous Rumili, where my husband's village of Delphis is located. Greeks are not usually shy about their bodies. I I caught Natasia lighting in Delphi's little church of St. Nikolas. She turned, and with that typical Greek gesture that says, What can I do? I am who I am, she smiled at me like a dream. |
