On July 18, the Prophet Elias' name day, the Prophet's holy icon icon is paraded around the monastery's compound walls by nuns. Greek Orthodoxhierarchy from all over the province
of Fotis come to bless those who wait patiently [I counted nearly 3 hours], as the mass is read in the five hundred year-old monastery chapel. Everyone seems to have a prayer formulating in their heads as they wait, and none more than these three, who I found were looking at the same beautiful Greek woman standing on the church steps.
